Marcus Miller + Ashley Henry

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

Hear an all-new set from a 21st-century jazz hero, as Marcus Miller returns to London for the first time since his storming Afrodeezia show in 2015. The Financial Times said Afrodeezia’s ‘emotional peaks at times reached the ecstatic’.

The master composer, bassist and leader brings his latest statement to the EFG London Jazz Festival.

In a career stretching back to the 1970s, Miller has worked with many of the past half-century’s greatest artists, including Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock and Eric Clapton. His place in music history was already assured back in the 1980s, when he served as producer and collaborator on some of Miles Davis’ brilliant final albums.

Through his jazz compositions and multi-instrumentalist live performances, he has become a major inspiration for the next jazz generation, and a standard bearer for jazz aficionados everywhere.

Opening set from Ashley Henry – one of a new generation of musicians that have been raised with a wide range of influences; his listening and visual styles range from Sinead Harnett and Digital Underground to ZuZu and Margot Fonteyn.
