Discussion Group: Giving Testimony

Part of WOW – Women of the World

Join an open discussion looking at what happens when you speak out in public about violence committed against you.

Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women in their lifetime, 1 in 5 women aged 16 – 59 have experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 16, and people with disabilities are even more likely to be the victims of violence or rape, yet we live in a society that finds it difficult to talk about.

In this discussion group, you hear from women who have given testimony about their experiences of rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence at WOW over the past six years.

Led by author, survivor, and activist Winnie M Li (Clear Lines Festival and the LSE) and survivor activist and dramatherapist Silke Grygier (The Survivors’ Collective).
