Javier Perianes: Chopin, Debussy & Falla

Part of Classical Season 2018/19

Spanish pianist Javier Perianes’ international career includes appearances at New York’s Carnegie Hall, Paris’ Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and Vienna’s Musikverein.

The first half of of his International Piano Series debut features two of Chopin’s most emotionally compelling works – the Op.48 Nocturnes and his final large-scale composition for the piano – the third Sonata.

The second half opens wirh Debussy's Estampes in which the composer first begins to explore some of the main elements of the new impressionist style and the recital ends with the exuberant music of Periane's native Spain.

Seldom, if ever, have I encountered such a combination of evident modesty and utter brilliance
