Hear from professionals on the approaches, challenges and successes when working with contemporary music and young people.

Speakers include:

- Nancy Evans, Director of Learning & Participation for Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG). BCMG is passionate about involving and supporting people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in the creation and performance of new music. This is done through innovative projects involving composers, BCMG musicians, teachers, researchers, young people and the wider community.

- Martin Fautley, Professor of Education, Birmingham City University. He is also director of research in the school of education and social work at Birmingham City University. He has a wealth of experience in music education and is widely known for his work on researching assessment in the classroom. He also researches understandings of musical learning and progression, especially in the novice stages, composing, and creativity.

- Judith Robinson, Creative Project Leader of education at Sound and Music. Sound and Music’s vision is to create a world where new music and sound prospers, transforming lives, challenging expectations and celebrating the work of its creators.
