Music Maze for Children

Part of Nordic Music Days

Calling all children ages 8 – 11, bring an instrument (if you have one), and join this three-hour workshop session to make your own piece of contemporary music, then perform what you’ve created on our cafe stage as part of Nordic Music Days.

Music Maze is a set of composing resources, each taking a different piece of contemporary classical music repertoire as their starting point. This session, led by Nancy Evans, Director of Learning & Participation for Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG), takes children through the processes composers use to help support the group to create their own music.

All abilities are welcome. If you have an instrument, please bring it with you, but it is not a requirement for participating in the workshop.

This workshop ends with a performance for children's parents and friends to enjoy, held in Blue Room, Level 1, Royal Festival Hall at 1.30pm.
