Swedish Summertime

Part of Summertime

Join us for a weekend celebrating Swedish feasting and Nordic music.

In traditional Scandinavian style, Swedes take to the outdoors every August to enjoy Crayfish parties, also know as ‘Kräftskiva’. We are hosting our own Kräftskiva on Festival Terrace overlooking the Thames, with plenty of free activities for you to enjoy.

Drop into the free crayfish bib and hat-making station in the cafe from 11.30am – 4pm and decorate crayfish-themed partywear.

Enjoy live music from 12noon on our Riverside stage, from artists such as Swedish jazz singer Cecilia Stalin (Saturday) and a cappella group, Scandinavian Singing Club (Saturday & Sunday). There's also an opportunity to join in and sing traditional Swedish songs. Followed by live DJs from 5pm including Norwegian DJ Linn Kristin (Saturday) and Heart N’ Soul (Sunday).

Advance tickets are also available to be part of our Swedish Summertime Crayfish Feasts, find out more here. Please note that the Swedish Summertime Crayfish Feasts are not part of the free activities across the weekend.
