Hot Brown Honey

Part of Summer at Southbank Centre

Equal parts theatrical spectacular and social activism, Hot Brown Honey is a posse of phenomenal women smashing stereotypes.

An audacious mash-up of music, dance and burlesque, Hot Brown Honey is unapologetically fierce – defiantly shattering clichés in an explosion of colour and culture.

Set in a dazzling beehive with lighting, music and costumes to rival Beyoncé at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Hot Brown Honey goes above and beyond all expectations as it pushes boundaries and defies labels in a daring celebration of our similarities and differences.

In 2016, Hot Brown Honey received the UK’s Total Theatre Award for Innovation and Australia’s Green Room Awards for Best Production and Best Design.

The team have taken centre stage at prestigious venues and festivals across the globe, including Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Arts Centre, Brisbane Festival, Tiger Dublin Fringe, Auckland Pride Festival and Hull Freedom Festival, to name a few.

Hot Brown Honey is presented by Briefs Factory.

Presented as part of Southbank Centre's Africa Utopia.

A brilliant mash-up of music, dance and burlesque.
