AIG & g4g Design Hackathon

AIG and Greenlight for Girls (g4g) partner to inspire girls in STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths around the world with fun, hands-on activities and events.

We’re hosting our first ever design hackathon with AIG & g4g, bringing together 60 girls ages 12 – 18 as well as STEM and design professionals. We invite you to join us to create ideas together using creativity and science. Let’s solve a challenge together to help others.

Students have the opportunity to take part in a full day event and societal design challenge. Fostering innovation and technology, find out how we can create solutions to secure the financial future of women.

Girls are split into small groups at the beginning of the day and asked to present the outcome towards the end of the day. They will work together in small teams and be guided by role models to generate ideas and solutions to secure the financial future of women. The winning team has the opportunity to have a mentoring session with role model volunteers, as well as the chance to present their idea at Southbank Centre’s International Day of the Girl celebration on 11 October 2017. This will be a fun, interactive, event in which participants will be able to use their learning to tackle other challenges around them in the future.

Lunch and refreshments are included and participants receive an AIG T-shirt, notebook and pen.

This is a free event however tickets must be ordered in advance and brought with you on the day. We will be in touch with all ticket holders in the lead up to the event with registration, permission and consent forms.
