Poetry International Sunday Pass

Part of London Literature Festival

The second day of Poetry International delves into the ways that poetry can articulate the burning issues of the present, from the challenges of terrorism to a changing climate, with a focus on the next generation of rising stars.

Poetry is often shared in the aftermath of disaster or death, and in talks and debates we interrogate the power of poetry to bring people together in times of crisis with poets from all corners of the globe, including Chinese poet Yang Lian, Icelandic poet Sjón, Kurdish poet Choman Hardi and many more.

As a finale event, Poetry International presents a showcase of 10 exciting and internationally in-demand Black and Asian poets in the UK, presented by British-Caribbean poet Malika Booker. Featured poets include British-Jamaican poet Raymond Antrobus, Nigerian poet and performer Yomi Sode, and Argentinian poet Leo Boix.
