Southbank Sinfonia Family Concert

Part of Classical music

Embark on a musical adventure into the music of Ligeti and magical pieces by his famous teachers and students, with Southbank Sinfonia’s 33 intrepid musicians as your guides in this concert for children ages 5 to 11.

György Ligeti, a composer whose music is jam-packed with tricks, mischief and wonder, found inspiration in books, the music he grew up with, and even the buildings he walked past each day. But most important of all was his boundless imagination that kept taking his music in exciting new directions.

Find your own inspiration in this concert, as specially-made videos and projections provide an up-close insight into the music being played. Afterwards, you can meet the musicians and try out their instruments.
