Being A Man Weekend Pass

Part of Being A Man

What makes a man? This is the central question of Being A Man festival, which returns in 2017 with three days of talks, debates, workshops and more. With topics ranging from male identity and fatherhood, to bullying and porn, teenage knife crime and music, we take a frank and sometimes light-hearted look at the issues facing the modern man.

Highlights include a conversation between American author Kevin Powell and Southbank Centre’s Artistic Director Jude Kelly; Robert Webb discussing the ideas in his book How Not To Be a Boy; Alan Hollinghurst on his latest novel, The Sparsholt Affair; and the inspiring story of Antonythasan Jesuthasan’s journey from a migrant displaced by Sri Lanka's civil war to star of the Palme d’Or-winning film Dheepan.
