Guide to Traditional Finnish Sauna

Finnish Rooftop Sauna

Part of Nordic Matters

Warm up and unwind in a one-of-a-kind Finnish sauna experience in the heart of London this Wintertime.

Step into our specially designed Nordic sauna that sits on Queen Elizabeth Roof Terrace, and let a sauna expert demonstrate steaming stones and introduce you to the authentic sauna experience. Reaching 90 degrees celsius inside, you can then cool down in the open air (or with cold water buckets if you’re feeling brave), all while enjoying exclusive views over the River Thames.

Combining beautiful Nordic design with a bespoke artistic commission, the Finnish Rooftop Sauna is a striking collaboration with Aalto University (Helsinki) MA students: Pedro Pablo Garcia Alcazar, Markus Holste, Monica Romagnoli and Miki Sordi, and Finnish sculpture Jaakko Pernu.

Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden Bar is also open to serve you Prosecco, warming winter drinks and snacks. Visit this oasis in central London as Southbank Centre goes Nordic.

Pre-order Nordic canapes to enjoy at the Rooftop Bar, including:
- House cured salmon, dark rye, pickled cucumber
- Venison carpaccio, lingonberry compote, toasted hazelnuts
- Baked golden beetroot, goats curd, pine nuts (v)

Just add them to your basket when booking.
