Cleveland Watkiss: 60th Birthday Celebration

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

Look back over a lifetime of jazz innovation with the award-winning vocalist at a performance marking his 60th birthday.

Cleveland Watkiss presents a retrospective of music from his extensive back catalogue along with his lauded take on the Great Jamaican Songbook, featuring the songs of Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown and Delroy Wilson.

Watkiss is joined by an array of musical guests, drawing from his collaborators old and new, including Orphy Robinson, Jason Yarde, Byron Wallen, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and more to be announced.

Over his career, Watkiss has worked with artists including Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder and Bjork.

He is a master of late-night mood music, and a versatile composer, equally at home with Latin, Jamaican, Cuban and classic R&B styles. ****
