The Furs quickly became a staple on American college and modern rock radio, and with the advent of MTV in the early 1980s, the band took off.
Their legacy was cemented when their song ‘Pretty in Pink’ served as inspiration for the 1986 John Hughes film of the same name, and was re-recorded for the film’s platinum-selling soundtrack.
After a brief hiatus in the 1990s, and a side project band called Love Spit Love, the band regrouped at the dawn of the new millennium. They continue to have a profound influence on the alternative rock music of today.
The Psychedelic Furs’ touring line-up is Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass), Rich Good (guitar), Mars Williams (saxophone), Amanda Kramer (keyboards) and Paul Garisto (drums).
Support comes from Australian band The Church. The set will blend almost 40 years of classics with a selection of new songs off their latest record.
