Part of Grace Jones' Meltdown

Glasgow’s experimental rock pioneers Mogwai play a one-off show for Robert Smith’s Meltdown, with support from Kathryn Joseph.

With a glittering 22-year career that spans nine studio albums, Mogwai continue to be a keystone of Scottish experimental rock, with their sprawling soundscapes and atmospheric instrumentals.

From 1997’s soaring guitar-heavy Mogwai Young Team to 2014’s relentless and dynamic Rave Tapes, Mogwai’s sounds are ever-evolving yet distinctive.

Their most recent album Every Country's Sun, released in 2017, sees their shifting styles merge to form their tightest tracks yet.

Mogwai are Dominic Aitchison (bass), Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Martin Bulloch (drums) and Barry Burns (keyboard, computer, guitar).

Support comes from Kathryn Joseph, whose raw and strikingly beautiful debut album bones you have thrown me and blood I’ve spilled won critical acclaim, culminating in a 2015 Scottish Album of the Year Award.
