Tomorrow's Warriors Ensembles Winter Showcase

Part of Wintertime

Kickstart your festive celebrations with the extraordinary young musical talent of Tomorrow’s Warriors – the UK’s leading Jazz development agency and Southbank Centre’s Youth Jazz Company-in-Residence.

To celebrate 25 years of delivering top quality music education for young people from diverse backgrounds based in London and around the country, Tomorrow’s Warriors are going all out with a very special end-of-year showcase event, featuring all of TW’s Frontline performance ensembles.

First stop, give your lunchtime some festive cheer with sets from their youngest but boldest ensemble, the Junior Band aged 11 – 15, led by Artistic Director Gary Crosby OBE. After a packed year of high profile performances across London, this quintet are the MOBO / Jazz FM stars of the future.

The Youth Ensemble are a septet with serious swing. Aged 15 – 19, and led by MOBO Award-winner Binker Holding (of Binker & Moses), they are much-in-demand as a semi-pro performance group.

The eight-piece Female Frontline Collective play a selection of upbeat jazz standards and festive versions of some well-known classics, to have you dancing your way through the winter blues.

And to top it off, their younger musicians are joined by their newest (but most seasoned) ensemble – the Vintage Warriors. A long time in the making, the Vintage Warriors project was launched in July 2017 and comprises the most hardy, enthusiastic, and jazz-loving retirees and lapsed players from across London and the South of England. After a summer appearance with the TW youth orchestra this is their chance to ‘swing’ on their own.
