Pansy Boy Workshops

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

Learn the potential of the pencil in this creative workshop with award-winning artist and founder of The Pansy Project, Paul Harfleet, as he presents his first picture book, Pansy Boy.

This beautifully illustrated book filled with detailed drawings of birds and flowers uses rhyming couplets to tell the story of a boy who revels in the joys of summer, exploring the flora and fauna around him. Reluctantly he returns to school where he is subjected to incessant bullying. Intelligent and bright, Pansy Boy is driven to create a plan to reclaim his school.

Join Paul Harfleet for an hour-long creative workshop, where he speak about the making of Pansy Boy, the nature of The Pansy Project and hosts a quick course in drawing, where participants learn how to draw some of Paul’s beautiful creations.

Paul Harfleet's Pansy Project involves him planting pansies at the site of homophobic incidents.
