WOW Friday Pass

Part of WOW – Women of the World

We bring you personal, local and global perspectives on the most relevant topics for women and girls today, with a special focus on business and the world of work. Expect talks, debates, workshops and practical tips on some of the most potent topics for women and girls, and the men and boys who support them.

WOW Friday includes everything from Code Switching, a session on how it feels to be a woman of colour working in a majority white space; explorations of women’s relationship to money from the global economy to your bank balance; International Activism, hearing from women and girls who are building global solidarity; and Stand Up to Stand Out, a stand-up comedy workshop from Funny Women. Plus leadership, debt, confidence, Badass Girls from History and much more.

Across the day you hear from thought-leaders, world-class speakers, and women and girls you may never have heard of but are changing the world. This is a time when female voices have become immensely powerful across the globe as a force for positive change – so come to WOW, debate the questions, and make new solutions together.

2018 sees the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, where some women in the UK could vote for the first time. We look at some of the stories of the women who paved this path for women’s rights, as well as looking at who didn’t get the vote at that time and why – and who still doesn’t.

WOW Friday also includes free events like our smash-hit WOW Speed Mentoring, and the WOW Market with ideas and products to fill your mind and your shopping basket, music, performance and networking opportunities.

Come to WOW Friday whatever your gender and whether you’re in employment or not.

WOW – Women of the World is Southbank Centre's festival celebrating women and girls, and looking at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. It was founded by Jude Kelly at Southbank Centre in London and happens all over the world from Pakistan to Finland, and from Katherine in the Australian outback to New York City. This will be the eighth WOW festival in London.
