WOW Two Day Pass - Saturday & Sunday

Part of WOW – Women of the World

Spend your weekend with us using the WOW Two Day Pass. Get involved in talks, debates, workshops and practical tips on everything from politics, sciences, fashion and race, war, domestic life, sex life and more.

Across the weekend you hear from thought-leaders, world-class speakers, and women and girls you may never have heard of but are changing the world. This is a time when female voices have become immensely powerful across the globe as a force for positive change – so come to WOW, debate the questions, and make new solutions together.

WOW Saturday sessions include Sweep Through the Year, a look at the highs and lows for women and girls in the last 12 months and exploring the some of the main stories by those who were involved; Breaking the Silence: Giving Testimony, a session where women who have survived sexual assault tell their stories, followed by a discussion group with women who have spoken out in the six years at WOW; plus sessions on Black Lives Matter, women and science fiction, intergenerational conversations, All the Single Ladies: a discussion group on the Dating Game and much more.

WOW Sunday includes a live recording of hit-podcast SRSLY with hosts Caroline Crampton and Anna Leszkiewicz; examinations of the power structures that support male violence against women; conversations about race and motherhood; Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong, a look at how scientific research women has been plagued by mistakes and bias for more than a century, and the breakthrough work that’s happening to correct it; along with drop-in workshops and more.

We close the WOW weekend with the WOW Den, a chance to share your idea for change with the audience and our esteemed panel of judges, and the chance to win a marvellous prize.

2018 sees the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, where some women in the UK could vote for the first time. We look at some of the stories of the women who paved this path for women’s rights, as well as looking at who didn’t get the vote at that time and why – and who still doesn’t.

Throughout the weekend there are also free events like our smash-hit WOW Speed Mentoring, WOW Bites and the WOW Market with ideas and products to fill your mind and your shopping basket, music, performance and networking opportunities.

WOW – Women of the World is Southbank Centre's festival celebrating women and girls, and looking at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. It was founded by Jude Kelly at Southbank Centre in London and happens all over the world from Pakistan to Finland, and from Katherine in the Australian outback to New York City. This will be the eighth WOW festival in London.
