International Women's Day at WOW

Part of WOW – Women of the World

Come to International Women's Day at WOW for a whistle-stop tour of the weekend programme to whet your appetites.

Led by WOW founder Jude Kelly and key speakers from across the programme, including activist Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, who was the first Sri Lankan to climb Mount Everest, author Kathy Lette, whose hit show Kathy Lette's Girls' Night Out comes to WOW in 2018, and Gulalai Ismail, a Pashtun human rights activist from Pakistan, and founder and chair of Aware Girls and the Youth Peace Network. She is also the winner of the 2018 Anna Politkovskaya Award.

The panel talk is followed by music from DJ and producer Orcades. Originally from Sweden, Orcades has made London her home since 2012. She creates and performs electronic music, with a focus on ambient, electronica / downtempo and deep house. She is a member of DJ Collective SISU which formed from the completion of a female DJ course held at Southbank Centre.
