Neuronal Disco

Part of (B)old

At this dance workshop, discover the molecular behaviours and patterns of dementia through the power of disco.

Curious about the inner workings of your brain? Learn about the dynamic functions of your neurons at this playful dance workshop.

Join artist Charlie Murphy and molecular neuroscientist Dr Selina Wray as they explain behaviours and patterns of brain health and dementia at the molecular level, through a series of choreographed dance moves.

Murphy and Wray are part of Created Out of Mind – an interdisciplinary team of people with dementias, scientists, artists, musicians, broadcasters, clinicians and carers who are working together to explore, challenge and shape perceptions and understanding of dementia through science and the creative arts.

The 'Neuronal Disco' is a creative tool they developed for understanding molecular structures and mechanisms of the brain and the pioneering laboratory processes used in dementia research.

This event forms part of 'Brains in a Dish', a collaborative research project between Created Out of Mind and UCL's Department of Molecular Neuroscience.

Created Out of Mind are current residents of The Hub, a creative space at the Wellcome Collection in London.
