Hair Nah

Part of WOW – Women of the World

Play this video game about a black woman who is tired of people touching her hair.

The game was created by art director, pixel designer, singer, and game designer Momo Pixel.

Starting her career as a copywriter, Pixel wrote commercials for Nintendo and later went on to create Momoland, an annual interactive pixel-art exhibition.

As Momoland grew, Pixel integrated more technology into her work.

In 2017, with help from advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy, she released the game em>Hair Nah, in which the player attempts to get their avatar to her travel destination while keeping people from touching her hair without permission.

It has since become a global sensation, and was featured in O, The Oprah Magazine, CNN, Rolling Stone, Essence, Teen Vogue, Vice UK and more.
