Paul Beatty won the Man Booker Prize in 2016 with The Sellout. He is the author of The White Boy Shuffle, Slumberland, Tuff, and two anthologies of poetry, Big Bank Take Little Bank and Joker, Joker, Deuce. He is also the editor of Hokum: An Anthology of African-American Humor.
He is currently Associate Professor in the School of the Arts Writing Programme at Columbia University, and lives in New York City.
Roddy Doyle won the Man Booker Prize in 1993 with Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha. He is the author of 11 novels, including The Commitments, The Woman Who Walked into Doors and, most recently, Smile.
Doyle was born in Dublin in 1958 and still lives there.
