Primary Schools Takeover: Lee Bul Exhibition

Part of Lee Bul

The Art Explorers have been handed the keys to Hayward Gallery and are running a day exclusively for students in Years 5 and 6 and their teachers.

For each exhibition at Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre works with schools to empower young people – our Art Explorers – to explore the artist and the work on display and then design a day of tours and activities for their peers.

Join them in the gallery for a day of workshops and tours that explore the work of acclaimed South Korean artist Lee Bul.

Lee Bul has explored questions of intimacy, gender, technology and class through a focus on the body. Drawing on science fiction, bioengineering and visionary architecture, as well as Japanese anime and manga, her work includes performance, drawing, painting and large-scale immersive installations.

Your school is invited to book up to 30 free tickets for students to come and take part in an interactive, exciting day in Hayward Gallery and Royal Festival Hall that is entirely designed and run by their peers.

Schools need to arrive at Southbank Centre for 10am. The day runs until 2.15pm, with a break for lunch. Please bring packed lunches. In advance of the visit, teachers are sent a resource pack and brief overview of the day.
