Suzanne Vega

Part of Nile Rodgers' Meltdown

Folk music icon and singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega plays a special show for Robert Smith’s Meltdown, with support from James Walsh.

Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk music revival of the early 1980s.

Accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang original songs – that have since been labelled ‘contemporary folk’ or ‘neo-folk’ – at clubs in New York’s Greenwich Village.

Since Vega’s critically acclaimed debut album 32 years ago, she has sold over seven million albums and has been nominated for seven Grammy awards.

She tours constantly and continues to play sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known halls and arenas.

Support comes from James Walsh, who released his first solo album Turning Point back in 2014, and has sold more than three million albums as frontman of the critically acclaimed band Starsailor.
