Poetry Course: Response to Lee Bul

Part of Lee Bul

Explore and be inspired by the visual poetry of acclaimed South Korean artist Lee Bul, in this six-week poetry writing course with poet Tamar Yoseloff.

Each Monday, you have exclusive after-hours access to Hayward Gallery to draw inspiration from Lee Bul's immersive exhibition, and workshop your compositions with the group.

Guided by Bul’s wide-ranging multidisciplinary practice, we explore some of her key themes relating to the body, radical architecture and fantasy, as well as discussing the work of writers who have influenced her, from JG Ballard to Sir Thomas Browne. Sessions also include guided gallery talks, writing exercises and feedback on new poems.

This opportunity is for poets of all abilities, and a willingness to learn together is essential.

Course tutor Tamar Yoseloff is an accomplished poet, writer, and teacher. Her writing encompasses a wide range of ideas and subjects, but she is particularly interested in the relationship between poetry and visual art, specifically contemporary art.
