New River Press

Discover the work of the countercultural poetry publisher New River Press, in this showcase featuring work by new and established writers.

Founded in 2016 by artist Robert Montgomery and poet Greta Bellamacina, New River Press is described by AnOther magazine as ‘fuelled by restlessness and a frustration with the state of contemporary poetry in Britain.’

They present the debut readings from two books forthcoming with the press: Breastmilk Martini by Lisa Luxx and Babylon (a Neoliberal Theodicy) and Other Poems by Niall McDevitt.

This night is a rare opportunity to see extended readings of original work from both Robert Montgomery and Greta Bellamacina, reading from the sold-out Coltash and the new release Selected Poems 2015–2017 respectively. Editor Heathcote Ruthven also performs a selection of work by New River poets.
