And the Air Sang: 20 Years of Foyle Young Poets

Part of London Literature Festival

Join us for readings by a gathering of ten Foyle Award-winning poets from across the decades at an event celebrating 20 years of The Poetry Society’s award.

Tonight’s reading features poets Jay Bernard, Sarah Howe, Richard Osmond, Helen Mort, AK Blakemore, Holly Hopkins, Jade Cuttle, Magnus Dixon and Richard O'Brien: all winners of The Poetry Society’s Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award.

When does a poet become a poet? How does talent unfurl? Since it was founded in 1988, this award has kick-started the career of some of today’s most exciting new voices. In association with The Poetry Society.

‘Entering the Foyle Young Poets of the Year competition was one of the best things I’ve ever done’
Helen Mort
