Passenger Seats with Chineke! Junior Orchestra

Part of Africa Utopia

Buckle up for your trip to sit centre stage with the Chineke! Junior Orchestra in this immersive performance, as they return for Africa Utopia.

Passenger Seats places audience members among the various sections of the orchestra on the Queen Elizabeth Hall stage while the Chineke! Juniors perform.

This is your chance to be centre stage and experience the music from the orchestra's point of view.

The Chineke! Junior Orchestra is a youth orchestra of black and minority ethnic (BME) musicians, aged 11 – 18 and is the sister ensemble to the professional Chineke! Orchestra, whose historic concert recently reopened Queen Elizabeth Hall. The senior Chineke! Orchestra players act as mentors, teachers and role models to the young musicians.

Playing in the Chineke! Junior Orchestra gives its young musicians experience and encouragement while helping them to build confidence during their formative years, with the hope of increasing the numbers of BME candidates studying music at third level.

The ensemble represents the rich tapestry of London and the UK, featuring exceptional young musicians who have bright futures within the world of classical music.
