Of Average Sunlight: a Display of Artists' Books

Be illuminated by this library of books from artists and poets that reflect on the sun’s power in the context of global warming.

In this book display, there are 16 newly commissioned artists’ books that exist on an intimate scale but engage with the ultimate life-giving source to the earth: the sun.

The group of poets and artists who have authored the books have used the medium of the artists’ book as an agent for thought and change.

Artists' books are made or conceived by artists, and are usually produced by small presses or by artists' collectives in limited editions.

This display exists as a mini browsing library. Artists include Les Bicknell, Nicky Coutts, Helen Douglas, Oona Grimes, Denise Hawrysio, Susan Johanknecht and Andrew Turner, Bob Matthews, Katharine Meynell, Drew Milne, Redell Olsen,Tim O'Riley, Colin Sackett, Kate Scrivener, Mary Somerville, Finlay Taylor and Erica Van Horn.

Curated by Susan Johanknecht and Finlay Taylor.
