Aby Watson and Dan Daw Double Bill

Part of Unlimited

Join us for a double bill of performances examining identity and disability from artists Aby Watson and Dan Daw.

The works explore the artists’ individual lived experiences of disability, using the body itself to challenge our perception of normal bodies, function and dysfunction.

Watson’s new dance performance, -ish, is a performance of movement, object and speech.

Using balloons, a space hopper and the human body, the Glasgow-based movement artist negotiates the territory between invisible and visible impairments.

The balloons are old and deflating, the hopper is full and firm, and the human is a dyspraxic, dyslexic dancing woman.

In an intimate show, Dan Daw reflects on his journey from growing up in rural Australia to forging an international dance career.

On One Condition invites us to challenge our preconceptions, taking us on a journey through belonging, struggle, comfort and need.

On One Condition is presented by Dan Daw Creative Projects and Murmuration, performed by Dan Daw, and devised and directed by Graham Adey.

-ish is commissioned and supported by the Unlimited programme, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Spirit of 2012.
