David Gray

Hear David Gray, the singer-songwriter behind 1999’s heartbreak classic ‘Babylon’, perform new album Gold in a Brass Age.

Exploring new electronic textures and sound palettes, along with new production techniques, Gold in a Brass Age is Gray’s first album of new material in four years.

On the new album, Gray’s unmistakable vocal is hushed in many places to an intimate falsetto – to compelling effect. Lead single ‘The Sapling’ sees Gray ruminating on the brevity of life, tempered by layered vocals and a brass section including cor anglais and baritone sax.

Gray’s breakthrough album White Ladder soundtracked the new millennium, staying in the UK top ten album chart for an incredible 40 weeks, and became the best selling album ever in Ireland.
