Primary Schools Takeover: Space Shifters

Part of Space Shifters

Gear up for a day of peer-led workshops and tours exploring the Space Shifters exhibition, for students in Years 5 and 6 (ages 9 –11).

The Art Explorers are a group of children who have been handed the keys to Hayward Gallery. Year 5 and Year 6 classes are welcome to a day of activities and tours led by experts their own age.

This time, come and explore the perception-altering works in the group show Space Shifters.

For each exhibition at Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre works with schools to empower young people – our Art Explorers – to explore the artists on display and then design a day sharing their knowledge with their peers.

Space Shifters features artworks by over 20 international artists that alter or disrupt our sense of space and re-orient our understanding of our surroundings.

Students can challenge their powers of perception in this optical feast that plays with light, volume, scale, and architecture.

Your school is invited to book up to 30 free tickets for students to come and take part in an interactive day in Hayward Gallery and Royal Festival Hall, entirely designed and run by their peers.
