London Mozart Players & Craig Ogden

Part of Classical Season 2019/20

Take in the exotic gardens of the Spanish royal palace with Rodrigo’s exquisite Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar and orchestra.

The work is the centrepiece in London Mozart Players’ Grand Tour of Europe, bookended by Mozart’s inventive and exuberant Linz Symphony and Mendelssohn’s vivacious Italian Symphony.

Performing alongside London Mozart Players is highly acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden, who calls the technically challenging work ‘the pinnacle of our concerto repertoire’.

The famous theme and beautiful cadenzas of the second movement, the Adagio, capture the essence of Spain with sensual flamenco rhythms and harmonies.
