Electronica and neo-classical artist Phildel comes to Southbank Centre to present her first album in over five years: Wave Your Flags.

Phildel’s music has been described as ‘Bat For Lashes as filtered through Talk Talk, graced with mellifluous harmonies, and evocative bursts of Eno-esque synthesizers (BlackBook)’. She has accumulated over 60 million streams around the world, including the internationally acclaimed ‘Qi’ and ‘The Kiss’.

In her latest tracks, the songwriter reflects on loneliness and belonging, resilience and inner strength. The past five years have been a period of transience for Phildel, represented by the scale and adventure present throughout her new material.

She reflects, ‘The drama in the new recordings is implied through a sparse but meticulous placement of sound and texture. Space has been used as much as sound in this album, as a way to create a powerful and emotive world through the music.’
