Benedetti Plays Mendelssohn

Part of Classical Season 2020/21

National treasure Nicola Benedetti joins the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to perform Mendelssohn’s landmark Violin Concerto.

The concept of an unfinished symphony challenges us to reflect on the very meaning of the word ‘finished’.

Is Schubert’s Symphony ever really finished if we continue to find new and creative ways to interpret the work and derive new meaning from it?

Perhaps the publication of a composer’s work is only one stage in a much bigger story of the music.
