Friday Lunch: The Liberty Choir

Part of Friday Lunch

Melodies are unchained at a free lunchtime performance from a choir that includes singers with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

The Liberty Choir is a community choir that runs programmes in prisons, engaging prisoners in the power of singing together.

In a ‘through the gate’ programme the choir provides high-quality singing and social development for excluded and isolated people, including those in secure psychiatric settings or people who are serving custodial sentences.

Helping to develop skills and self-confidence, the choir opens up the world of arts through singing and provide access to new social networks as the participants re-enter the wider community.
