The creator of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, Mr Benn and Not Now Bernard reflects on a career of writing and illustrating beloved children’s books.

In an event celebrating the 30th birthday year of Elmer, David McKee gives an insight into the process behind his creations. Elmer remains one of the most iconic and widely read children’s book series of all time, selling over 10 million copies worldwide in more than 50 languages.

McKee has written and illustrated over 50 picture books for Andersen Press and has been involved in the creation of animated television series based on his characters, including the classic BBC series Mr Benn.
