Charlie Cunningham

The British singer-songwriter layers reflective vocals over dynamic nylon-stringed guitar playing to create distinctive, spectral melodies.

A move to Seville to hone his guitar technique acted as a catalyst to Charlie Cunningham’s creativity. Taking the percussive and rhythmic qualities he developed there, he began to thread his individual approach together, releasing debut album Lines in 2017 to widespread acclaim from both international listeners and critics.

His songs have received airplay on Radio 6 Music and support from Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart at Radio 1. Alongside the announcement of this Queen Elizabeth Hall show, Cunningham has released new single ‘Permanent Way’, which is a nod to what we can expect from him in terms of new material for 2019.
