Daedelus: The Bittereinders

The LA-based sonic explorer debuts his new live audiovisual show in London, closing his End of Empire trilogy with new album The Bittereinders.

Enter Daedelus’ world of mystic overtones, marrying ancient requiem with township jazz and electronic music by way of drone, pipe organ wheezes and incessant beats.

The Bittereinders follows 2014’s The Light Brigade and 2010’s Righteous Fists of Harmony, all on Brainfeeder.

Daedelus, aka Alfred Darlington, is a pioneer and standard-bearer for experimental electronics, and newly minted faculty at Berklee College of Music.

In his own words: ‘From the belief that contemporary events are too difficult to address, I’ve reached back into history to relate some of what is largely forgotten to directly look into the ravages which continue to echo.

‘All records fuse unrelenting repetition of lyrics and forms, evocative noise and reaching melodies.’
