The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

The caterpillar who first munched its way into our hearts 50 years ago comes to life in a show featuring a menagerie of 75 loveable puppets.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by author and illustrator Eric Carle has delighted generations of readers, selling more than 43 million copies worldwide since it was first published in 1969.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, this critically acclaimed production faithfully adapts four of Carle’s stories: Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

With their colourful hand-painted tissue paper collage illustrations and distinctively simple stories, Carle’s books have introduced countless children to a bigger, brighter world – and to their first experience of reading itself.
