Queer History Tour

Part of Summer

Do you know the connection between Polari and Southbank Centre? Or how 6,000 people celebrated the Marriage Act here in 2014?

Take a walking tour of our site, exploring some of the stories of artists, visitors and staff from the LGBTQI+ community who have helped shape Southbank Centre.

Our Queer History Tour is part of a summer of events celebrating LGBTQI+ artists and performers.

Tours last approximately one hour, and begin at the Welcome Desk, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall. Each tour is different, and the route taken varies depending on the day’s activities and events.

Tours take place on the following dates and times:
Thu 15 Aug, 6pm
Fri 16 Aug, 2pm
Sat 17 Aug, 2pm
Sun 18 Aug, 5pm
