Tales from the Library Attic: Story Workshop

Part of London Literature Festival

Conjure up your own fairy tale with mysterious paper-cut art in a story workshop.

The Patchlarks are friendly storytellers who make wondrous fairy tales from the things left behind in the library attic of the City of Stories.

Join them for story-inventing activities calling on the oral tradition, and visual story-telling with paper-cut shadow collages.

In the City of Stories there is a street and on that street is an old library. Up in the attic is a trove of curious things ready to be transformed into stories...

The attic treasures are ready to become tales of imaginary creatures, of paths through dark forests and far-off lands that are just round the corner, of kindly wolves and grizzly children who might just gobble you up.

And when the sun shines through the dusty windows the tales begin to appear all around in beautiful shadows...
