Ring in the festive season with beautiful gamelan music and dance from Java, Indonesia.
Musicians from Southbank Centre's gamelan programme perform an array of mystical repertoire showcasing gongs, chimes and metallophones, as well as lively upbeat party pieces to welcome in the festivities.
They are joined by dancer Ni Madé Pujawati and the spectacular Lila Bhawa Indonesian Dance UK.
Southbank Centre has been home to Javanese gamelan orchestra ‘Kyai Lebdhajiwa’ since 1987, when it was presented as a gesture of friendship to the people of Great Britain by the government of the Republic of Indonesia.
