The Cult of the Virtuoso Concerto

Part of Classical Season 2020/21

This event has been cancelled as we are currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Hearing Vivaldi’s exuberant concertos inspired his contemporaries Bach and Telemann to produce their own.

All three composers stretched the limits of the virtuosic performers of their day.

They also understood, perfectly, the unique capabilities of each instrument they wrote for.

The results are breathtaking showpieces which take the listener on an exhilarating roller-coaster journey.

This concert includes six inspiring concertos, performed by some of the leading Baroque virtuosi of the 21st century.
