Debris Stevenson

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

What’s next for the grime poet and pansexual ex-Mormon? Be here for the first London performance of Debris Stevenson’s latest collaborative show.

Stevenson’s Poet in da Corner – a grime-infused coming-of-age musical – was staged last year to rave reviews.

Through the show, Stevenson told the semi-autobiographical story of an East London girl who finds meaning in Dizzee Rascal’s groundbreaking debut album, Boy in da Corner.

Stevenson has performed everywhere from BBC Radio 3’s The Verb to London’s Roundhouse. Poet in da Corner saw her nominated for an Emerging Talent Award at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2018.

Debris will be joined by “one woman musical army” Amy Fitz Doyley, intuitively experimenting with a variety of different instruments and sounds, alongside poet, singer, MC, multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli, who has long been established as a gem of the world of spoken word.
