Unclassified Live: Shards & Qasim Naqvi

Part of Classical Season 2020/21

Southbank Sinfonia is joined by presenter Elizabeth Alker and conductor André de Ridder for an evening of music that blurs, and sometimes obliterates, boundaries.

Vocal group Shards combine voices, synths, and percussion in a celebration of creativity, with every member of the ensemble bringing their distinct musical personality. The result brings a directness to their sound, inviting the listener to hear their minutest details up close.

As a composer for dance, theatre, film and installation-based art, Qasim Naqvi creates music that delves deep into the timbres of analogue synthesizers and orchestral configurations.

Unclassified Live brings you music by visionary composers and performers who refused to be put in a box.
