Creating Magical Ideas: Cressida Cowell & Friends

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

Calling creators of the future – hear from the pros on how to grow your own magical ideas at a talk with the author of the How to Train Your Dragon book series, alongside guests Liz Pichon and Kiran Millwood Hargrave.

In this event, speakers including Waterstones Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell talk about how important creativity is, reveal the secrets behind their own inspiration, and share top tips.

How to Train Your Dragon all started when Cressida, age nine, began writing about Vikings and dragons on her holidays, and grew into a billion-dollar DreamWorks film and TV franchise.

Whether you want to be an author, illustrator, film director, or be an innovative thinker in anything you do, this event is unmissable for the whole family.

Kiran Millwood Hargrave is the multi-award-winning, bestselling author of four stories for children and young adults, including The Girl of Ink & Stars and most recently The Deathless Girls.

Hugely popular author and illustrator, Liz Pichon, is best known for her number one internationally bestselling series Tom Gates. This has led to Pichon being awarded over 20 awards ahead of her latest book, Tom Gates: Spectacular School Trip.
