Migrations Paper Birds with Jane Ray

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

Take flight at a colourful workshop led by illustrator Jane Ray, where you can make your own recycled paper bird with collaged feathers.

In an event inspired by Migrations: Open Hearts, Open Borders, look at some of the words and pictures included in this wonderful illustrated book.

Talk about what birds can symbolise and write a message on the wings of your own bird guided by Ray, who has illustrated around 50 books for children and contributed a bird postcard to Migrations.

She is artist in residence at The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants, and recently illustrated Hummingbird by Nicola Davies, which looks at the vast distances travelled by this tiny bird.
