The Quest for the Treasure Chest with ShayShay

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

Set sail for adventure with ShayShay, Sophie Brain and Mahatma Khandi in search of the greatest treasure in the world.

Become a treasure hunter by singing, dancing and riddle-solving across the ocean, from the high seas to the seabed. Pirates, mermaids and sea creatures help you on your quest, but it’s up to you to discover the treasure.

Throughout Imagine we take inspiration from the themes and adventures of the strongest 9 year old in the world, Pippi Longstocking. Today we explore Pippi's sense of adventure.

ShayShay is a non-binary drag artist and activist devoted to empowering the queer community, exposing intersectionality, and raising marginalised voices. ShayShay is a founder of The Bitten Peach, a Pan-Asian queer cabaret collective. ShayShay is also the creator, curator and host of the ShayShay Show – a queer community gathering which provides a performance platform for new performers.

Sophie Brain is a high-energy drag performer and dancer. She has performed in music videos, theatres and stages (including the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal Albert Hall) with the likes of Boy George, Eve and The Pussycat Dolls.

Mahatma Khandi is a drag artiste, who describes themself as the auntie who brings the good potato salad to the family BBQ. They have carved a drag career that spreads between reality TV and musical theatre. Mahatma Khandi believes in the world of silliness and escapism, and seeks to share this world with everyone. A sense of community and friendship are always key elements to this queen.
